The Best Iced Coffee

Some shocking news I’m about to lay on y’all… I have a coffee addiction! I love it and need it! There is nothing I love more first thing in the morning than a hot, fresh cup (more like an entire pot, realistically) of coffee. Summer time always gets me in the mood for iced coffee and you guys know I’m all about that frugal life so after paying $3/day for a couple weeks, I knew something had to give! I’ve made my own iced coffee at home on and off for a couple years now. I’d brew some coffee, let it cool down then chill it in the fridge. But, it was never as good as a coffeehouse. I finally figured out cold brew is key and makes the best iced coffee I’ve ever had! Guys, it is JUST as the delicious as the stuff I was paying for every morning!
All You Need:
•12oz bag coarse ground coffee
•1 gallon of cold water
•Milk,cream and/or creamer of choice
All You Do:
Pour your coffee into a large bowl. Add water to the bowl and mix well until all grounds are completely saturated. Cover bowl and chill for 8-12 hours in the refrigerator. After, run brewed mixture through a fine mesh strainer with a coffee filter. Boom! You’ve got your week’s worth of ice coffee ready to kick-start your mornings!
When I’m ready for a glass, I fill up my cup with ice, then add the coffee to about three quarters of the way up, then top with creamer. This brew is very strong to avoid getting diluted by the ice so you may want to add some cream or milk also. I love mine with just vanilla creamer. I’m always trying to watch my sugar but hate the way artificial sweeteners taste so I do a mixture of regular vanilla creamer and sugar free vanilla creamer. Cheers!
