Fall Beauty Favs

My favorite time of year is here! I will be honest, I love all the “ber” months … September, October, November and December. Seems there is so much to do and so much to celebrate! With the changes months, comes changing weather and it has me changing up some skincare and beauty habits a bit. Here are my current Fall Beauty Favs!

1 // Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Foundation

118 Light Beige

Ok so this isn’t just a fall fav but has been my new year-round fav! I started using it about halfway through the summer and haven’t looked back! I really wasn’t in the market for a new foundation. I was perfectly happy with my old stuff. BUT then I heard several people refer to this stuff as the perfect dupe for Estee Lauder’s Double Wear foundation. I have always wanted to try Double Wear because of the rave reviews I’ve heard about it BUT at $40+ a bottle, I knew I wouldn’t be trying it any time soon, haha! So while I’ve never tried Double Wear to give an honest comparison of the two, I can tell you I have been completely blown away by this drugstore foundation. It goes on super smooth (I use a damp beauty blender) and lasts all day and even well into the evening! The best part is its under $10!

2 // Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express

Blackest Black

This is a brand new product to me. I actually asked for mascara suggestions on Instagram about a month ago and heard this recommendation loud and clear! I had never tried to before and I honestly don’t know why. This stuff goes on super smooth (not clumpy at all) and lasts all day with minimal smudging onto on lids and virtually zero flaking/fall out. I applied to coats after curling my lashes. I also love how easily this stuff washes off! I’ve shared that my eyes have been very sensitive lately and I have been trying to avoiding too much scrubbing or eye makeup remover. My regular cleanser melts it away! Best $7 I’ve spent in a long time!

3 // Wet N Wild Gel Lip Liner

Bare to Comment

I had been on the hunt for the perfect lip liner for months. I was originally on the hunt for a nude liner but after months of searching, I realized I actually wasn’t a fan of a nude lip color on myself. I felt like I needed a little more color, not too pink and not to nude/brown. That’s where this stuff comes in, I bought it on a whim, thinking it may be too dark BUT every liner I had tried before wasn’t dark enough so for $6, I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! I love wearing it alone- just line my lips then fill them in a bit or with my tried and true NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee.

4 // Maybelline Master Contour by FaceStudio

Talk about an all-in-one! If I could only bring one beauty item to a desert island, I would probably bring this! It’s so versatile, I do most of my every day makeup routine right from this one product. The contour is perfect for contouring cheek bones, my nose, my forehead and jaw line. It also makes a great eye shadow and smudged eye liner. The highlighter is great for highlighting cheekbones, the in corners of  eyes, and right under my brows. The blush is the perfect sweet pink too- great for layering, never over-powering. I am currently using up the last of my “medium-deep” pallet from having a tan this summer then moving onto the “light to medium” pallet for the fall and winter months.

5 // No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator

Lets talk exfoliation! I have been on a serious exfoliating journey for the passed year and I finally found the perfect product! I was all over the place before. First, I was exfoliating way too aggressively. I have a lot of redness on the apples of my cheeks from using too-gritty of an exfoliate plus too much pressure, in combination with over-using my Clarisonic. Then I kind went on an exfoliating hiatus for fear of doing any more damage. But the truth is, proper exfolation is crutial for the the renewal of new skin cells and for full product absorption. The means, without properly exfoliating your skin (i.e. getting all the old dead skin cells off) any products you put on your skin (think treatments, serums, moisturizers, masks) are just going to sit on top of the dead skin cells instead of fully penetrating into your skin to do their best work. The texture of this stuff is super fine. I use it all over but concentrate on my forehead, my nose (around the sides too), around my mouth and my chin. I use it 2x a week.
